That's a wrap! Another Microsoft Inspire, the largest Partner event of the year, is now over. In this blog we will cover off the highlights, biggest announcements and what Akari are most looking forward to!
It's fair to say Microsoft did not disappoint with their announcements - from the launch of a new Viva module to shared channels in Teams - there's so much to talk about. Below are some of the biggest highlights that Akari are most looking forward to implementing with our customers!
1. Teams Connect and Shared Channels
Teams connect and shared channels are now generally available! That's right, the feature we have all been waiting for since the announcement at Ignite in Nov 2021 is finally here. Users will now be able to “collaborate with people inside and outside your organisation in one shared space where everyone can work, chat, meet, share, co-author files, and develop apps together.” Shared Channel usage will avoid the time-consuming task of switching between tenants, instead allowing for “seamless, secure and trusted collaboration” between organisations in minutes.
2. Viva Engage
Introducing the latest module to the Viva Employee Experience Platform. Viva Engage will help organisations bring a sense of community and connection to the workplace. Think of it like a social networking platform where you are able to express yourself, create and share content (including videos) but for business. Built on the foundations of Yammer (but with lots of cool new features like stories) Viva Engage will be sure to ignite your employee engagement, grow personal network and strengthen connections all within your work steam. Just to recap, we now have Viva Learning, Insights, Topics, Connections, Goals and Engage with the first role-based experience tool starting with Viva Sales
3. Microsoft Cloud for Sovereignty
Designed specifically for Government Sector, Cloud for Sovereignty “enables public sector customers to build and digitally transform workloads in the Microsoft Cloud while meeting their compliance, security and policy requirements.” Public Sector customers can now harness the full potential of the cloud whilst continuing to accelerate their digital transformations whilst having greater control of their data and “increased transparency to the operational and governance processes of the cloud.”
4. Teams Updates
Excel LiveAs part of Making hybrid work work Microsoft launched Excel Live. Now companies can “Collaborate on workbooks in real time in Teams meetings,” customise views and filter data without disrupting the workflow of other people viewing the worksheet. Built upon Live Share (announced a Microsoft Build in May), users are able to collaborate within a Teams meeting window meaning allowing people to contribute from wherever and whenever they are working.
Video Clip & Collaborative AnnotationsBringing collaborative experiences into the flow of work, Microsoft announced a new feature called Video Clip. This allows users to record, send and view short videos all within a Teams Chat but it doesn't stop there. Using the toolset of Microsoft Whiteboard, all meeting participants can draw, type and react on content shared within the meeting!
Complementing Microsoft's Cloud for Sustainability, Akari's solution EnviroTrak was featured this year. In today's current climate crisis, now more than ever, people and organisations want to reduce their carbon footprint to meet their sustainability targets. EnviroTrak harnesses the latest in Microsoft technologies, to allow organisations to make informed data-driven decisions around their sustainability goals and objectives. Built natively within Microsoft Teams, EnviroTrak is designed to be accessible for all, so that each and every individual can contribute to your organisation's performance, whilst maximising your existing Microsoft investment.
